I’ve been working directly with the current Rt. Hon The Lord Mayor of London, Fiona Woolf CBE nearly two years creating and now delivering ‘Power of Diversity’ Programme, which is a key element of the 686 plan.

The 10th June sees something a little different happening in Mansion House in the centre of the City.

Hosted by Alderman Fiona Woolf CBE, The Rt. Hon. The Lord Mayor of London, Harnessing the Power of Diversity will approach the Diversity and Inclusion agenda a little differently, focusing on how people at many different levels of a company can influence change and harness the benefits that diversity brings to business.

Time and time again, discussions on this agenda reaffirm that line managers, ‘the gatekeepers of talent’, are a hugely untapped group of people who have major influence on the culture of companies and who make decisions that impact their teams. This conference is specifically aimed at middle and senior managers, men and women, focusing on the key challenges that they face in harnessing diversity (in its widest sense) in the workplace and embedding effective practices in their day to day activities.

The conference is highly interactive. Through the use of interactive tablets, all delegates will have the opportunity to share their views on important questions around leadership, management and their role in creating change. They will also all get the opportunity to attend  four ‘taster’ workshops focusing on the skills required to create inclusive work environments and to get the best out of their teams.

The outputs of the conference will be pulled together into a report, which will be available to all conference delegates, sponsoring companies, that will be available by this site and the ‘Power of Diversity’ Programme site (due to launch later this month).
